It’s time to get your “but” out of the way, and I’m not talking about adding some exercises to trim, tone and firm your gluteus maximus. I’m talking about your “but” – that big, gigantic reason for NOT going forward towards reaching your goals. You’ve either said it yourself, or you’ve heard it said, “But, I’m too tired…, “But, I don’t have time”, “But, I’m too old, (fat, uneducated, etc.)”

If you find yourself beginning a sentence with “I would, but,” “I know, but,” or “yeah, but,” you are in the excuse making phase of how not to reach your goals. In other words, your “but” has become too big — more important than the goal.

This “but” is truly versatile, used to keep us from seeing many dreams come to pass — finances, education, relationships, career, fitness, lifestyle, etc. Anything that has to do with moving forward successfully in any area of your life requires the “C” word – commitment, yet we have all found ourselves using the “B” word – but, instead.

Doing Something is Better Then Doing Nothing

Don’t feel bad; just stop struggling. It’s time to get off your “but” and get on with committing to a better year and a better you. Yes, some amount of time has come and gone, BUT it is not too late.

If you are reading this, you have made the first step towards doing something about your situation.

Let’s do this – Pick ONE of your goals and work on it.
It truly does not matter which goal it is – just pick one that is fairly doable so you can have a win under your belt. Nice to start a new phase in life with a win!

You probably have something in the Physical Goal category…
Improve overall fitness? Lose weight? Eat Healthier? What is yours?

GET STARTED!

1. Write it down
Example – Lose weight
2. Make it specific
Example – I want to be at my ideal weight – 130 lbs.
3. Make an “Affirmation” about it
Example – I AM at my ideal weight – 130 lbs. – and it is easy for me to maintain.
4. Write a few more affirmations to go along with it. I AM consistent in my exercise. I drink plenty of water each day. I AM consistent in the amount of sleep I get each night – 7 hours. I ENJOY eating healthy.

You DID IT! You got started! Make copies of your affirmations (I AM declarations). Put them in strategic places – refrigerator, computer, bathroom mirror.

Say these every day. Your thinking will change and you will find yourself making healthier choices regarding your overall fitness.

Sometimes those “buts” try to show up and you need to nip it in the bud. When you hear that uncontrollable statement come up as to why you can’t do it, STOP. Take a deep, deep breath and regroup.

Remind yourself of your “I AM” statements and realize that you are on a wonderful journey to a healthier and more fit you – at your ideal weight.

Something is better than nothing.
If you have been discouraged and not taking the best care of your body….. if you have been unmotivated to get moving, it’s time to get your but out of the way and take first step to a happier, healthier you.

A little goes a long way.

Set a goal – 7 days/21 days/30 days.

Ideally, I want you to do your affirmations for 30 days. On day 31 you begin a new 30 day challenge. Walk for 10 minutes a day – every day.
Next challenge is to drink more water each day – start with one 16 oz bottle and progress from there.

What you don’t hate, you will tolerate. If you really hate being where you are and hate your “but” being in the way, then let’s DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Start today to write and repeat your I AM statements each and every day. You will be more empowered, motivated and dedicated to go to the next phase of this amazing journey.

Thanks for taking me with you! We can do this!
Speak up and say, “Out of my way, but. No more excuses. You are not the boss any longer.”
